The All-Ireland Credit Union Awards have been established to celebrate and commemorate the hard work, diligence and dedication of the staff, volunteers
and directors that comprise Ireland’s most loved and trusted financial institution.
Despite the challenges of the last 2 years – Credit Unions continued to grow – offering support, service and hope to their members.
This year, for the first time, we will recognise the unwavering effort of those who devote their time to making people’s lives better.

Press Release CU Awards, October 27, 2022
The inaugural, all Ireland CU Awards were held at a gala dinner in the Intercontinental Hotel in Dublin on Saturday October 22nd. Coinciding with International Credit Union Day. The night was deemed a huge success by the many Credit Union attendees and their sponsors. Such was the positive feedback received by the founders of the CU Awards, Sean Staunton and Michael Byrne that a date of 21 October 2023 has been agreed for the next celebration of the Credit Union movement, which promises to be even bigger and more entertaining.
The glittering event celebrated the many achievements of Credit Unions throughout the island of Ireland across all platforms of business, wellbeing, individual contributions and lifetime achievements.
The judging panel was composed of business and community leaders, Chairing the judging panel was Joanne Griffin, Thought partner/CFO and author of Humology, and included Donal McKillop, Professor of Financial Services, Queens University, Belfast, Olive McCarthy Senior Lecturer University Cork, Lorraine Corcoran CEO Afanite, Social Economy & Governance Expert, Chair of the Credit Union Advisory Committee and Nick Money, Director of Development at Swoboda Research Centre.
